Everyone knows “The Betrothed” (I Promessi Sposi) by Alessandro Manzoni. In this masterpiece, the author recounts stories of everyday life set precisely in our area, between Lecco, Pescarenico (a district of Lecco), and Vercurago, where the ruins of what tradition identifies as the Castle of the Unnamed can still be seen today.
